1. ADRIA EYE
What would an amusement park be without a Ferris wheel?
When Mr. George Washington Gale Ferris Jr. presented a huge Ferris wheel with a height of 80.4 meters in Chicago, he probably did not even dream that his invention would be an integral part of every amusement park or major metropolis.
The finished wheel turned on a 13.9-meter-long shaft, which at the time was the largest hollow iron in the world. It was manufactured in Pittsburgh by the Bethlehem Iron Company and weighed 40,510 kg, together with two 16-foot diameter cast iron spiders 24,054 kg
There were 36 gondolas, each equipped with 40 swivel chairs and capable of accommodating up to 60 people, giving a total capacity of 2,160 people.
On June 9, 1893, the wheel was ready for a test run with great anticipation and a great deal of trepidation. The engine that would power the wheel was powered by steam boilers whose underground piping forced steam to drive the pistons of his thousand horse power engines.
Today, the largest Ferris wheel is located in Dubai, with an incredible height of 250 meters, it has 48 gondolas, and the total capacity is 1750 people. A 38-minute drive is quite enough to see the city panorama, isn't it!
Our ferris wheel is appropriately named Adria Eye, because it is located in the heart of the Adriatic, is 30 meters high and has 18 gondolas. I remember when I told a little Slovenian who was going for a ride with his parents that when they reach the highest level he should look carefully because he will see his house in Slovenia, he readily said he could. When they came down, I asked him And?, and he told me that he didn't see very well, but still thinks that Slovenia is a little too far. A pleasant ride in which you can see the panorama of Lake Vrana, Pakoštan, Biograd, the surrounding coast and islands as if in the palm of your hand, lasts 5 minutes and is suitable for all visitors to the park. It's also a fantastic place to take pictures and share photos on social media.
2. BIG BLUE
Our fast blue train rushes and roars through the park, you will surely hear it when you visit us. Don't be scared by its speed, because it's a pure rush of adrenaline. Get ready for a mission that starts on high-speed rails and moves into the orbit of our space part, spins and turns you upside down and safely returns to the starting position.
The Looping Star by Anton Schwarzkopf, 554 meters long, 18.5 meters high and with a speed of 66 km/h, is literally a "mountain railway" located in the space part of Dalmaland and is a real treat for those who crave adrenaline. It is interesting that when guests look at the roller coaster from the promenade, they feel awe and disbelief at how scary the ride looks to them. The bravest are of course the smallest ones, the ride is allowed for children 130-140 cm accompanied by an adult, and it is often a problem for them to find an adult who would go on the same ride ten times in a row😊
It is interesting that they do not have a drive, most of them are pulled up the hill with a chain or cable and released downhill. The potential energy accumulated by the rise in height is transferred to kinetic energy, which is then converted back to potential energy as the train climbs the next hill. Changes in height become smaller during the course, since some mechanical energy is lost due to friction and air resistance. A properly designed outdoor track will result in the train having enough kinetic energy to complete the entire track under various stressful weather conditions.
The first slide was invented in Russia. Roller coasters originate from a form of ice sledding that became popular in Russia in the 15th century. Adaptation opened in 1784 in St. Petersburg which included carriages on slotted rails. In the 19th century, further adaptations were made in France and the United States, leading to the coasters we know today.
The roller coaster also has its own day, it's August 16, and that's when lovers of roller coasters come to amusement parks to test their limits in continuous rides on the death train.
Our Big blue also attracts guests from all over the world, because in the roller coaster community, the goal is for everyone to ride all the roller coasters in the world. So we were visited in the Park by a 59-year-old lady from America, who came by cruise ship to Zadar, then by taxi to Biograd, just to ride our roller coasters.
We were once visited by a family from Great Britain, parents with small children, roller-skating lovers who came only for the Big blue, namely the parents rode on it from 1981-1994. in the Dreamland amusement park, and now they have come to let their children take a ride on the attraction of their youth.
3. HOUSE OF HORROR
A haunted house is a house or other structure believed to be inhabited by the spirits of the dead who disturb the occupants. Such houses are usually old with a long history of habitation. With the so-called haunted houses are associated with supernatural occurrences of certain representations, most often in human form. Every country has several haunted houses that even offer sums of money to stay in them. Manifestations of supernatural phenomena in haunted houses range from the appearance and flashing of lights, unusual sounds, the appearance of dark or bright images, objects falling or floating by themselves, etc.
Specialists in the paranormal attribute unusual and disturbing occurrences in houses that have a sinister reputation mainly to restless souls who cannot find peace after death, whether they left some unfinished task or died a violent death that they cannot come to terms with and seek revenge. Scientists, on the other hand, claim that the majority of such phenomena can be explained by some kind of rational interpretations, mainly reducing such experiences to the result of fear or the prevailing irrationality of witnesses.
Thousands of years ago, pharaohs already cast a curse on those who dare to enter the tombs where their rulers rest forever. We know from history that people are fascinated by various freaks, apparitions, unusual phenomena, and it was quite logical that such attractions become integral parts of amusement parks, where guests will be able to see ghosts, skeletons, zombies, various creatures from the imagination and test their "nerves" to ultimate limits.
Houses are labyrinths that you pass through on foot or by car and where behind every turn, every corner, room or ceiling something scares you, jumps out, scratches you, pulls you by the sleeve in the dark, accompanied by appropriate lighting, creepy howls of cursed spirits and scary music , where you get "chills" from horror.
Our Captain Hook horror house is just as scary and popular as many other attractions around the world. It was created as a labyrinth of the dark life behind the death of the famous Captain Hook, who was condemned to the end of the world to remind people what awaits them if they are greedy, lying, cruel fraudsters during their lifetime. At the entrance, there is a shipwreck stranded on a beautiful sandy beach, but whoever survives to the exit, passing through the hell of various living skeletons, zombies, ghosts, is lucky to have survived!
How the puppets that are in charge of scaring the guests work, let it remain our little secret.
Although there are about fifteen steps from the entrance to the exit from the outside, it takes the guest 4-7 minutes from the entrance to the exit.
All visitors to Dalmaland want to visit the House of Fear, our recommendation is that children under the age of 8 are not allowed to enter, but every parent knows their child and if they allow them, they can enter. Most often, when they decide to enter, they return after the first corner, and those little ones who last until the end really know how to say: I am happy that I survived this!
4. DINO WORLD
Dinosaurs became popular with the appearance of Jurassic Park, a movie that depicted the collision between modern technology and extinct dinosaurs, which happens when we play with nature. General chaos, running from enraged huge dinosaurs that destroy everything in front of them. In the first sequel, the dinosaurs were shown for a total of 15 minutes in the entire film, but in a short time they reached enormous popularity, suddenly you could buy t-shirts and other things with dinosaurs, puzzles, mugs, pencils, pencil cases, bags, films and cartoons were filmed there topic, the youngest were completely infatuated with everything related to dinosaurs. From our colleague, the 4th and 5th year children know how to list the types of all dinosaurs, they have everything related to them, and we can only imagine how many other children in the whole world love dinosaurs.
The secret of how they died out has not yet been proven, whether it was an asteroid that hit the earth's soil and raised so much dust that the Sun was obscured and vegetation was unable to grow, so those who were not killed by the impact later died of starvation, for now it is the most advocated option. Considering their size, it is assumed that they consumed large amounts of food, which was in very small quantities due to all of the above. Only those that could adapt to the new living conditions survived, for example, the dangerous dinosaur Tyrannosaurus rex is the ancestor of today's chickens, American scientists proved by protein analysis.
That is exactly why one of the most popular family attractions is definitely Dino World, a magical world from prehistoric times. You pass through the attraction sitting in antique cars, sit comfortably and go back in time through a forest of the strangest plants and various dinosaurs in life size, they move and roar, their heads lurk behind hidden bushes waiting to attack for their prey, from huge eggs are laid by hungry Velociraptors waiting for your carelessness to grab you! The attraction is intended for all ages and is equally exciting for everyone.
It is interesting to observe small children who see our Tyrannosaurus Rex for the first time, since he is life-size, has his own "skin", moves his head and roars, the children are in disbelief that it is real, they can get close to him and see him live. But not only the dangerous T-Rex, but also the rest of the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park. If you don't believe it, come and see for yourself.
5. BUMPER CARS
Bumper cars are a fun family attraction in which you drive on a flat track in "irons" powered by an electric drive, a rubber bumper surrounds each vehicle, and the drivers collide or avoid each other as they travel. The cars on the control console have 5 gears, but for safety reasons they are mostly driven in the first gear. Controls are throttle and steering wheel. Cars can be made to go backwards by turning the steering wheel far enough in either direction.
The first crash cars appeared back in the 1920s, and they haven't changed much to this day.
It's not a problem to drive in them if you don't have a driver's license, the biggest problem is getting your turn to drive 😉. They are adored by everyone, from the smallest ones who want to drive a car to the older ones who take them back to their childhood.
Our track has an area of 300 square meters, with 16 multi-colored cars, and even though they are all equally fast, everyone is happy to change cars because it seems to them that the "yellow" or "blue" one was faster. Driving does not require experience, but it is good to know how to avoid collisions that can be painful.
