Why does a ticket to Dalmaland cost as much as it does?
We decided to build the largest entertainment complex in Croatia. After a long search for the ideal location, we decided on Biograd na Moru, located in the center of Dalmatia, with many sunny days in both the pre-season and post-season, well-connected by road and a favorite destination among domestic and foreign guests.
But behind every ticket stands the most magnificent summer entertainment industry, and so many hidden costs that you might be surprised.
Here's what you actually pay when you buy a ticket to Dalmaland:
Land and infrastructure
Before a single drop was poured into the pool or the attractions were installed, it was necessary to buy land, make construction projects for all the facilities and build everything from access roads, parking, electricity, water, sewage and get approval for everything. Every draft, every paper, every permit – everything costs money.

Attractions, pools and equipment
After we built the buildings, platforms for attractions, dug holes for the pools, pulled all the cables and pipes and started purchasing attractions.
Quality attractions and slides are not toys from a catalog!
These are structures that cost as much as the most luxurious houses or settlements. For example, in the XD Dark Ride cinema, 8 chairs, a screen and software cost the salary of 35 years of work of one worker and that's without game licenses, which are paid for every year.
We have 40 attractions in Dalmaland.
In addition to the above, certain components of the attractions must be changed regularly, like in a car, from simple changes of filters, pumps, wheels to serious interventions such as engine changes or upgrades. Most of the above is carried out by our technicians, but for some maintenance it is necessary to invite experts specialized in this, and they are not located in Croatia.

Water, electricity and other costs
All attractions within Dalmaland run on electricity, many also on water. The construction of water filtration areas, heating, pumps, lighting, all refrigerators, chambers, and freezers are all large consumers of energy and they all do this every day.
And let's not forget: water is constantly consumed and lost (evaporation + hygienic filtration).
Furthermore, there are taxes, surtaxes, contributions, concessions, loans, etc.
Catering and trade
There is a restaurant, a fast food restaurant, several cafes and a souvenir shop in Dalmaland. Since the catering facilities are located in thematic units, it was necessary to decorate them accordingly, e.g. the Pirate Pool Bar located in the pool is made in the shape of a ship located in a cave. We have equipped all the premises with quality equipment and durable inventory.
A variety of dishes are prepared for guests. The food that is purchased is from local entrepreneurs or well-known Croatian food industries.
People think that food is "earnings" - it is mostly a small profit, after purchasing food, paying workers, throwing away unsold food, and writing off, we really can't talk about a big profit.
Employees and Procurement
In order for everything to function smoothly, it is necessary to hire technicians, cashiers, operators, chefs, pizza chefs, waiters, cleaners, administrators, marketing experts, graphic designers, salespeople, bookkeepers, accountants...
Buy computers, POS devices, counters, air conditioners, refrigerators, tables and chairs, deck chairs, and all other inventory that is in the park.
Paying for marketing agencies, advertising space, printing houses, telephone, Internet, cash register programs, catering, and all the other costs of an amusement and water park could be endlessly listed.
Where is the profit?
The profit comes only when all expenses are covered and when the debts from the initial investment are covered. Except in the event that we decide on new projects such as the construction of new attractions or slides.
That's why the ticket must have a price that people sometimes perceive as "high".
We can say that the ticket is easy to buy - but there is a huge machinery behind it, it is the price of a complete investment and when everything comes together - the ticket is actually the fairest way to cover it all and for Dalmaland to exist at all.
But at the end of the day, our greatest gain is not bills or numbers, but the happiness, smiles, and memories that our guests take home.
